Carnival Cruise Line is raising gratuities beginning May 1, according to the company's website

Gratuities for suite staterooms will increase from $15.99 to $16.50 per person, per day.

For guests in standard staterooms, the new gratuity will rise from $13.99 to $14.50 per person, per day.

Guests who do not pre-pay their gratuities will see the charge reflected on their bill on the second-to-last day of the cruise. Guests who are not satisfied with their service can contact the guest services desk while onboard to adjust the gratuity amount. Gratuity charges are considered final after the guest disembark.

For comparison, Royal Caribbean charges $14.50 per day for guests staying in junior suites and below and $17.50 per day for guests in grand suites and above.
